Gordon is the strong blue tank engine that pulls the express on the Island of Sodor. Sometime he can seem a little cocky, but in the end he always proves to be a great friend. Gordon is engine number “4” and has a tender with his coal. At one time he mistakenly took James’s special coal. Because Gordon was trying to set a new record he did want to waste time by giving James back the special coal. But when he saw how unhealthy the regular coal was making James he realized that his friend was more important than any record he could set.

There are several different Gordon toys. Some are part of the wooden railway series, some are the talking Gordon. All are bright blue with the number “4” on the side.
